After School Care for Teenagers

After School Care is offered at Currimundi and Nambour Special Schools to provide teenagers with a disability a range of age appropriate activities.  Fees similar to other After School Care programs apply.  Teenagers are supported in ratios appropriate to their needs.  Contact the Coordinator for information on vacancies.  To be eligible, teenagers must be aged 13 to 18 and must meet the other eligibility criteria set out in "Other Eligibility Criteria".

Please note that priority of access to this program is given to working parents.

To be placed on the waitlist for After School Care, please tick the waitlist box for After School Care on the Family Expression of Interest form or if you are already registered with the service, contact the After School Care Coordinator.  Those have been on the list the longest will be offered a place when one becomes available.

There are waitlists for two separate areas; Nambour and Currimundi.

Waitlists are reviewed bi-annually, after which time you will be advised of the expected intake timeframe.

Therapeutic After School Care for Children Aged 6 to 12 years

This program offers a dual service to families by providing both after school care and therapeutic services such as occupational therapy, speech therapy, physiotherapy, physical therapy and swimming therapy in a specialised setting.

To be eligible, families must demonstrate that there is no other after school care option available to them.  They must also meet the other eligibility criteria set out in Table 1 page 5 labeled "Other Eligibility Criteria".
